Today, we’re diving into W903 Portable Car Stereo by Carpuride.

This nifty device isn’t just a stereo; it’s a full-on command center for your car, complete with front and rear cameras that record everything non-stop.

Unboxing the W903

As soon as we opened the box, we were greeted by the sleek, long display of the W903. It’s super clean and simple, making it a snap to use.

I have to be honest here, this units interface is pretty much identical to the Eonon P4.

Flipping it over, there’s a height-adjustable, multi-angle camera – talk about having eyes in the back of your head!

Along with the stereo, there’s an AUX card, a suction cup mount (handy for installing the rear camera), a power supply, and a solid mount.

Inspecting the Unit

The W903 sports a thin, clean design that’s sure to impress. It comes with an AUX/SD card slot, camera input, and a USB-C power supply, which is a big upgrade from older USB types.

Why You’ll Love the W903

What’s great about the W903 is how it modernizes any car. The more we can update old cars, the longer they stay on the road, which is a huge plus. As more models and competition come out, they just keep getting better. This is a huge reason why I love reviewing them, to increase competition. The mount is pretty standard, easy to adjust and extend. Installing it is a breeze – just slide it into the grooves, and you’re all set.

Navigating the Home Screen

The home screen is a treat – clear and user-friendly. We didn’t permanently install the rearview camera, but setting it up is straightforward.

This rear backup camera installation video is nearly identical to how you would install one with the Carpuride unit:

The unit boasts features like CarPlay, Android Auto, AirPlay, Android Cast, and Wi-Fi connectivity. You can play back recordings, adjust settings, and even silence that annoying beep sound.

Camera and Recording Features

The cameras record in 1080p, but you can crank it up to 2.5K if you want. There’s a handy 3-minute loop recording feature, and you can tweak the microphone and reverse line calibration settings. The split-screen mode lets you see both what you’re recording and your apps at the same time. Plus, there’s a screen saver and brightness adjustment options.

CarPlay and Audio Features

Connecting to Apple CarPlay is a breeze, and it opens up a world of features like maps and Spotify. You can even route audio to your main head unit in ways you might not have known. The FM transmission feature lets you play through your car’s radio – the sound quality is impressive!
